ABOUT
414 Instruction & Training, LLC is dedicated to providing a holistic approach to self protection instruction and training in a fun, safe, supportive and non-intimidating environment.
As the founder and chief instructor of 414 Instruction & Training, LLC, I want to help women and families who choose to own firearms to do so safely and responsibly. In addition to firearms, I love talking about other tools that may be used for self protection... most of all, the brain.

People ask me if I only instruct women. The answer is no. I am happy to instruct both men and women (boys and girls). But my primary focus in self protection and firearms instruction & training is on women. Many well-meaning men want to teach their wife / girlfriend / daughter to shoot. Many times, this ends in frustration on both sides and a woman who may never want to pick up a gun ever again. The fact is: men and women learn and approach firearms differently. That does not mean a woman cannot learn from a man. In fact, I believe the exact opposite since most of my instructors have been men. I simply want to engage women specifically where they are comfortable and have the best opportunity for success.

My company name, 414 Instruction & Training, LLC, is founded and based upon a verse from the Bible: Esther 4:14. Esther's cousin Mordecai has sent word to her about a plot to kill her people, the Jews. When she is hesitant to act, he sends this word to her: "For if you keep silent at this time, relief and deliverance will rise for the Jews from another place, but you and your father's house will perish. And who knows whether you have not come to the kingdom for such a time as this?” We may be unsure of ourselves; we may feel ill equipped; but I believe that you and I were each made for such a time as this. I am passionate about helping you be equipped and empowered to protect yourself and your loved ones should that time ever come.

Located in the Mid-Cities area of the Dallas/Fort Worth (Texas) metroplex, I frequent shooting ranges in Fort Worth and in the western portions of Dallas.
Donna Cornell
Instructor, Founder
I am a native Texan and proud Texas A&M Aggie. I’m a wife, mom, and I am very involved in my community and church here in the Mid-Cities. I have been around guns for my whole life and was taught gun safety and a healthy respect for firearms from a very early age by my father who served as a law enforcement officer for over 30 years and took his three daughters deer hunting each fall. As an adult, I found myself in a position where I realized I didn’t have a sufficient answer for many “what ifs” regarding my personal safety and realized it was time to explore owning a pistol and getting my License to Carry. In the process of training, I found that I truly loved shooting and training with pistols. I became involved with and a leader in a women’s shooting organization, now known as Armed Women of America (formerly TWAW Shooting Chapters) which led me down the path of becoming an instructor.
I am passionate about helping women and men be their own self protectors, make informed decisions, and find what works for them. As a mom, I understand the concerns and challenges of having firearms with children in the house, and I am committed to helping other parents teach their children gun safety.
